The Sleeping Dragon
In class, a short talk about author/illustrator Linda Ragsdale's experiences in Mumbai; and how the outcome resulted in The Peace Dragon project came into existence. This is one student's response.
Violence, explosions, bombings and moreWhat on earth does this world stand for?
People hurting and killing, each and everyday
The world is not innocent like children at play
But one day, that peaceful, slumbering dragon will arise
And save everyone from their terrible demise
The dragon of peace is not hard to find
One just needs to look inside their heart and mind
Although the dragon is sleeping right now
and peace seems nearly impossible
The earth will shake, the dragon will wake
And peace will not be quite so improbable.
